Raquel graduated as a physiotherapist in Lisbon, Portugal in 2019 and has since moved to the UK with her husband. During her career she has followed her passion into neuro rehabilitation undertaking post-graduate courses on the Bobath concept. She has also completed qualifications in Clinical Pilates and Therapeutic Yoga applying these skills to her patients.
Since joining the Burscough Neuro Physiotherapy team in 2021 she has developed a specialist interest in the rehabilitation following stroke, spinal injury and brain injury. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve their goals and go onto achieve the highest levels of independence possible.
Raquel is a much-loved member of the team with her positive attitude and strong commitment to all of her patients. Away from work, she is kept busy looking after and walking her young cocker spaniel. She also enjoys staying active, travelling and exploring new places and foods. Whilst in Portugal she played for the Portuguese Basketball Federation for 18 years.
