Leading independent provider of neurological physiotherapy & rehabilitation.
We provide a comprehensive neurological physiotherapy service.
Our neurological physiotherapy team treat a wide range of conditions.
Lee was born with AVM (arteriovenous malformation), a condition where blood vessels tangle abnormally, which can sometimes lead to a bleed in the brain later in life. In May 2020, Lee experienced a life-changing brain bleed. As a result, he was left unable to use his right arm or leg, and his world turned upside down.
Before this, Lee loved his job as a carer, supporting others in their daily lives. However, adjusting to being on the other side of care was incredibly tough. He spent 4 months at the Sid Watkins Brain Injury Rehab Unit in the Walton Centre. After that, he continued his recovery at Oak Vale Gardens for another 16 months. During this time, Lee worked hard and made significant progress. Nevertheless, the road to recovery was far from over.
In September 2021, Lee’s sister discovered Burscough Neuro Physio online. She immediately knew it could help him continue improving. Lee’s goals were clear: he wanted to improve his memory, regain independence, and ultimately take steps towards walking again.
With the support of Raquel and Shelley, his dedicated physiotherapists, Lee has achieved remarkable progress. Each week, Raquel and Shelley work with him to build his strength and mobility. As a result, he can now walk several steps using a stick with their assistance. More importantly, he has regained the ability to get in and out of a car. Because of this, his quality of life has improved dramatically. It has given him the freedom to spend more time with his family and enjoy outings once again.
While working on his physical recovery, Lee has also reconnected with his love of painting. This creative outlet has become a form of therapy and a way for Lee to express himself. In addition, it has reminded him of the talents that make him who he is.
Lee continues to work hard towards his ultimate goal of walking independently. Although the journey is challenging, his determination inspires everyone around him. At Burscough Neuro Physio, we are proud to support Lee every step of the way.

Mike sustained a severe head injury which left him with mobility and co-ordination problems. As Mikes wife, it is difficult for me to express how valuable this neuro physiotherapy service is to us both. Mikes quality of life is greatly enhanced by the physios efforts with him each week (thanks for everything).
Mrs M, Mikes wife, about Mike aged 52
The physiotherapy sessions my mother has had from Burscough Physiotherapy following a stroke last year have improved her movements beyond anything we could have expected. The care attention and treatment she has received from the physiotherapists dealing with her have been second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending Burscough Physiotherapy to anyone in need of their services, they are excellent in every way.

I have found all the physiotherapists who come to my home approachable and helpful. They always take the time to listen and advise. Having the same therapists also helps as they have built up a good relationship with my son

May I once again thank you and your physios for all the work put in on my mum and the wonderful improvement made, not just physically but to her mental wellbeing as well. The girls have worked wonders and she and I can not thank you enough.

Kind and caring physiotherapists who give their best to improve the lives of their patients…I am impressed by the encouragement given to P throughout each session and also for the explanation of what the exercises are hoping to achieve.
